66 Mustang auto to manual swap
I have a 66 Mustang with a 302 and a C4 transmission, I have been thinking about converting it to a T5 or T56. I know there is a lot of modification to be taken care of such as the clutch, the transmission mount, shortening of the driveshaft, etc, but does anyone who did the swap have any advise?
I am considering just buying a complete kit from http://www.moderndriveline.com/ and just getting it all over with.
Does anyone have any advise on what to do?

its cheaper if you piece together the kit yourself i think, i couldnt find drivelines price. you can get the clutch cable kit for around 80$ on ebay. a cross member is maybe ~200? i would say the hardest thing to get is the clutch pedal, a fox body clutch pedal could be fabricated to work though

This is basically what I was looking at http://www.moderndriveline.com/catal...conversion.htm
it is rated to 450hp which is well above my engine's hp, but who knows when i'm gonna want to add more power. It also has everything from the clutch pedal down to the trans so I would just have to get a driveshaft to make this complete.

want to save a good bit of cash get a good 4cylinder transmission from a 87-93 stang
it will hold the power and all you need to run that tranny instead of a v8 spec t5 is an adapter pilot bearing.
you can find good 4cylinder t5s for 100-250$

I am swapping a t5 into mine, there are alot of little things to look for (still learning) I already had a 3speed in there so it is going to be a little different compared to mine on the trans I made one. It is not too hard if you can weld I'm still learning on that too. I used to take it to other people for the welding but after paying $400 for a job that should of been less than $150 I decided to buy one and start doing things myself. My trans is used and was working, I am going to drive it like that and start saving for when ever it needs to be rebuilt. Why not use the trans like that then have it rebuilt later on when it needs it unless it is completely gone.

Are you sure about this? Im still learning but I thought his currengt 350 hp would be pushing a regular T5 pretty hard. Sounds like he is gunning for 400+ eventually?
