1963 Mustang???
Hi everyone. It's my first time posting here, but I have been reading this board for quite a long time. There is a wealth of information here and I am betting this is my best hope for getting the rest of the story on this. Today a coworker noticed the picture of the 66 GT Mustang on my computer at work. He then told me that his neighbor has a 1963 Mustang that he is considering selling. It's the typical car in a barn story that we have all heard 1000 times. I then went on to explain that he must have a 64 1/2 - 66 because Ford didn't sell Mustangs in 1963. He insists that it is a true 1963. I told him to get me pictures of the car as I might be interested in it. My question to anyone who might know anything about this is this:
I know there were several 1963 prototypes built and shown across the country. Is there ANY chance that there weren't all crushed? I always assumed that they had been destroyed after the show circuit was finished.
I am 99% sure that he is wrong about the year, but after reading the story about the ONLY 1971 Boss 302 that sufaced on Ebay a fews months ago I am going to do my due diligence in identifying this car before it sells to someone else and is gone forever. Thanks for ant info you can provide.

I would highly doubt he has a 63' they were not production cars, merely a concept car based on the 62' Mustang concept.

He might actually have a title that says 63. Doubtful but possible.
I have a 43 ****** Jeep with a title that states it as a 47 "Jeep Jeep".
Titles in the old days weren't as accurate or vetted as they are today, you see it more in the 50's and older cars than 60's cars though.

The first time I titled and registered my 66 fastback, the clerk asked me the body style. I said 'fastback'. My title and registration read '1966 Ford fast'.
Even For did typos. There's a 65 fastback that appears for sale occasionally, the VIN starts out '4T09T…' he's been trying to con some goober into buying it as a fastback prototype for years. It's really just a low-option 65 fastback, basically an incomplete roller last I saw.
