How do you remove a manual steering adapter from the pitman arm?

I had to use a tie rod separator or a pickle fork and just beat the hell out of it. The stud ended up coming out of the part that goes onto the steering arm and I used a socket and a big C-clamp. It popped and scared the poop out of me but it worked.

I use my air hammer for all these types of things. Slap in the pickle fork attachment and pull the trigger. That might take a minute but all the vibrations from the air hammer with the pressure from the forks it will pop out.

I had a similar situation where the power steering ram goes into one of the parts (don't know the name. After lots and lots of hitting, my dad and I broke out the torch and heated up all around the hole, after it was nice and toasty we hit it a couple more times and it fell off. If nothing else works out try using a torch around the hole to expand it.
