she's running !!! :-]
i put in the fuelpump and my original pertronix system.
i used a relay to wire the fuelpump and used the ignition coil+ as 'trigger'
my first lesson learned was tha teven an electronic fuelpump can't be placed at the top of the inner wing. the thing failed completely to 'suck' petrol, which I had no problem getting there with just sucking (with my mouth).
thought the thing would be fried, but it made noise, so I tried the bottom (where the original pump was) and straight away got 7psi behind the pump and fuel filter full.
So i just have to plug those holes I made. could be worse. I like to learn, but why always on my car :-)
anyway i hooked up everything and for some weird reason without any f*cks flying around all came together pretty smoothly.
I haven't got the exhaust hooked o header yet as my buddy was usign the pit. I filled up liquids and started and even though she didn't run at first try i had the biggest smile on my face. it was turning. so at least I got the flywheel teeth right and starter was engaging. tried again and ka--broooooooooooooom
she started up, made loadsa noise and I'm happy
I called it quits for today. tomorrow I'll hook up the exhaust, do the timing and carb and see if it's driving. haven't even tried the clutch yet for a bit forward and backward ...
i made a video (phone only), but youtube is not happy with me currently, so I'll upload as soon as it works :-)
i'm thrilled, but still anxious that everything will hold up. if it overheats, if it keeps watrer and oil, whatever it decides to do ... I just hope it's nothing major for once and I can for once clean and drive the car
