Default 67 Rear Valence Stud Placement

Im in the process of finishing a "re-pop" rear valence for my 67. Before I clean up and paint the back, I want to know the proper placement of the install studs. Do they sit on the top of the bracket and get welded on, or do the sit under the bracket?

Here are pictures of both ways with the after market stud. Im sure both ways will work, but which one is corret?

Thanks

Gotcha......did you use any jb weld for it not to move or did you just leave it after it snapped in?

Just snaps in and works fine. Didn't use anything else.
