Question A/C Evaporator Drain Location

I recently purchased an A/C kit from Classic Auto Air for my 65 coupe. I'm trying to determine the exact floor pan location for the evaporator drain tube. Ultimately, I need to drill a hole in my passenger side floor pan for the installation. (As you might image, my goal is to a single hole rather than create swiss cheese.)

Any measurements or photos would be appreciated.

I ordered the Vintage Air unit however have read both install manuals. Doesn't it go out through the firewall with the rest and then you route it downwards?

yeah here.. Page 7 shows its through the firewall and is a 5/8" hole. Page 10 shows the 6" clear tube and Page 31 of their install manual is a template. Just download the PDF file and search for "drain".

Have fun!

I am also finishing up an install of a classic auto air system. There support is great but some of the parts( as usual ) are made in china. I have a daily driver system with a modified eaton power steering bracket. The idler puller was completely "off square" and I had to return 2 crank pulleys( 3 belt) as all they had in stock was welded out of round. By the way I have a "true spinning" 2 groove chrome crank pulley if anyone needs one.

I had to make some rather extensive mods to make it fit and the stainless hoses to finish are on their way. I am still not sure the best way to run the line as I dont want it on the passenger side so I will probably either center it behind the knee knocker or run it out the firewall.

If anyone has a eaton power steering pump the classic auto air will not directly fit. You need to take off 3/8 of an inch off the bracket and reweld. I can send pics if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the input guys. 4R Rush, I'll hve to circle back to your post once I get further into the install.

My installation differs from Adrenolin's. I have an original under dash evaporator (not the perfect fit kit). The Evaporator drains through the passenger side floor board. I'm just not certain of the exact drain location. I'm hoping to find photos or measurements from an original A/C installation to help me locate the drill point for my install.

Thanks!!
