what to buy??? 2 options...
ok i just put a paxton on my car and now i have two weak links.... which one should i upgrade first? disc brakes in the front or 9" with 3:70's in the rear. my rear end right now is a ticking 8" time bomb with new 4:11 gears and a posi unit. I really dont want to break it since i have a 67 cougar that it will fit in. What should i buy guys???

Well, if its your last resort to only do one of those, definitely do the brakes. Think about it this way if you're skeptical: the chances of crashing your stang are a lot greater with bad brakes than if your rear end is dying. I know people are gonna say that you'll crash if your rear end breaks when your driving, which IS possible. However, I would imagine that most rear ends break at low speed when your launching the car hard from little to no speed. Thats my two cents. BTW love the car

wait, hows your stopping power now?
and whats the period between the two, the best way to save money would be to buy the 9" now before you blow the posi for your cougar, and just take it easy until you can get brakes.

exactly. if you are alright with how it stops now, and you are confident, than go with the rear. but if you have doubts about the brakes, go with the brakes, and drive less spirited until you can get a 9in.
how long will you have to wait between the two?

If it were me I don't think you will really be able to go any faster because the suspension/steering/aerodynamics are the limiting factor in what feels comfortable. The car would just be able to get to that speed faster. If it really isn't going faster then the brakes are just as good for the supercharged motor as for the normally aspirated motor. Having said that, I have never owned anything but a disk brake Mustang. If you felt comfortable with the drum brakes and the normally aspirated motor then I don't see why you wouldn't now. If that is the case then go with the rear end. If on the other hand you didn't feel the brakes were sufficient then go with the new brakes.

the brakes are decent for stopping around town as long as im not trying to stop on a dime while im in full thorttle. I have brand new brakes, drums and power booster. The weather is getting nice and i will be at the track pretty soon. I do have a stick so down shifting is usually what i do. If i pick up or the other it wont be until the fall until i get the upgrade the other. I was stopping the car at the track last year at 106 in the quarter without the supercharger last years, but the supercharger has defently added some extra power.
