i forgot to mention this yesterday but here's a way i can maybe tell if the hood is original or creatively cut. all the cars that i have seen appear to have hood pins. mine doesnt does this mean its a fake or were hood pins an option that was rare for someone with a shaker to not get

I know that hood pins were an option. I also looked at buying a 69 Mach 1 with the shaker hood and no hood pins, but I can't say for sure either way.

I thought all 69 Mach1s came with pins, but the hood could have been replaced in the last 35 years...

Not quite sure what you're asking but 69mach1377 is right, all 69 mach1 cars came with hood pins, 70s came with those screw down latches. You'd asked about shaker hoods in a previous post, for a 1969 351 windsor they are super rare, much more so than the 390s or 428s in fact. Believe me, I've been looking for a correct 69 m code shaker mach1 for quite some time now with no luck. For 1970 they are quite common.
