Default Heidt sub-frame connectors are installed, and

just finished installing my Heidts bolt-in subframe connectors. they tuck up very nice and fit perfect. while i was at it i also spent 2 weeks and countless hours scraping and sealing the whole underside of my 66 Fastback with truck bedliner sealer. it was a mes to do but well worth it now that its done.

Are you confident the bolt in type won't come lose or wear the bolt holes? Why not just tack weld in to go ghroudh it.

There is salt from the ocean. as your car sits it rots away.

I'm going to agree with James. Bolt in subframe connectors are good. Weld in connectors are better. Bolt-in subframe connectors that have been welded are best.

Sub frames are on my list of things to get around to doing eventually.

I am going to go with the bolt on's but plan to weld them...I noticed some time back that is what CJ Pony parts suggest in their catalog anyway...buy the bolt on kind but weld instead.

"it was a mes to do but well worth it now that its done."

Tell me about it. In order to save parts money for my engine I was looking for a project that was cheap but needed to be done. We put in new full length floor pans last year so I decided to clean up the back part of the car on the underside. I have spent hours scraping sh*t out of there. I have been taking the route of painting the metal and then putting undercoat on over the paint. Out of all the crappy jobs I've done that one is at the top of the sucks list. But it sure looks nice when it is done and help protect the underside of the car.
