Whining of the rear end

Whining of the rear end
Hi,
I recently (less than 200 miles) had my 2.79 swapped to a 3.55 that goes great with my T5. My mechanic used brand new parts and I drove it for 150 miles without any suspect noise.
When I took it this morning (10 miles drive), it was whining at the end, mostly when I was not accelerating (easier to hear as the engine makes less noise obviously). I don't know exactly if that was it but it was a loud resonance sound from the back.
Can it simply be that this new part needs some time/miles to adjust?
Thanks,

Sounds like the backlash wasn't set correctly. Get back to him soon before you break something! It's possible that in an "under load" condition it won't make any noise but in the "coast down" condition it'll scream like mad.
Tom - I bought a new set of 4.11's, a Ford Motorsports T-Lok unit and new bearing set for $640 (T-Lok was $350), I did all of the install myself. I had access to a press and dial gauges so it made the install very easy. It was my first attempt a building/rebuilding a rear end. I was pretty surprised at how relatively simple it was. It took me about 4 hours - ONLY because I measured and re-measured and then I measured and re-measured again. The shop that my son works at usually charges about $150 in labor.
