Default Light Problem

I'm haveing a problem with my left rear light. The running light comes one with the three others when I pull the switch in the dash. But if I hit the brakes or the left turn signal or the hazards the left one won't come on? The right performs perfectly. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Have you checked the bulb? or for a loose or dirt socket?

if i remember correctly the 66 have as well only one dual-bulb.
easiest thing to check is just to swap the two rear bulbs.

if the prblem doesn't move with the bulb, then check if it behaves different with lights on or off
as in lights off, does brake light come on if you hit brakes?
then try lights on. do they come on or does everything switch off on that side

Yup, 66 has the dual bulb. I tried with three bulbs in it and even switched the whole light fixture (don't know another word for it. its the bucket that the lightbulb is in). On or off it doesn't make any difference.

Does the front turn signal come on at all, flashing or not??? If not, then you probably have a problem in the turn signal switch in the steering column. If the front turn signal comes on then you probably have a bad wire going to the rear of the car for the rear turn signal portion of that bulb.

All three other light work fine. I'll check the wires even though I couldn't find a bad one before. Thanks!

Probably still the turn signal switch in the column as everything has to run through that before they go to the lights. Here is what I am talking about.
