Default Crunching the numbers on cams, etc

I've been playing with some data on cams and such. Mostly the xe266-274hr cams with stock heads and 570-600 cfm Holley or Edle, dual/single plane intakes in a 91 302 in a 65 stang with AOD and 350ish gears, long tube 1 5/8 headers feeding Flowmaster 40s. Money is too tight for proper heads at the moment so that's off the table. If anyone is running any combo close to the options above, what kind of gas mileage are you getting? I'd hate to build another 10mpg car as I don't want to worry about affording to drive it daily.

My 331 with a Magnum 280H, Rhoads lifters, 3.25 gears, and 600CFM Edelbrock gets 8-12mpg city, 15mpg freeway. I imagine with a roller cam 302, better gears, and AOD you'd get quite a bit better than that. Your stock heads are really going to hold you back, though.

isn't that a bit long duration for stock bottom end or how high can you rev those 91 302s ?

As to mileage, 15 is my imaginary number. If I can touch that on the highway, I'd be tickled. I was a little doubtful, but maybe there's hope.

About the duration: According to the desktop dyno, the xe274hr peaks a tad over 5k with my proposed setup including crappy heads. Decent heads show to raise the power as well as the peak RPMs, but that's not an option at the moment unless someone is offering donations. I was actually leaning more towards the xe266hr before playing with this program but don't see much reason to stick with the milder one from the generated output. Nothing there I'd be concerned about if it's at all accurate.
