Default holley jet kits

Hi all,

i'm finalising an order with summit and wanted to get jets for my carb.
i was thinking the primary one size and two sizes up and down each. Same with secondary.
that's 8 jet pairs at 7$ each->56$
now I've seen the jet kit:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=HLY-36-181

This has all pairs from 64 up to 99 for 50$. I'm quite sure my friends can use some of them as well. We're nearly all Holley.

What puzzles me is the tiny primary on the 570 Street avengers. According to this:
http://www.holley.com/data/TechServi...%20Listing.pdf

my carb (80570) is 122-54 and all other 600crfms are 65-ish. So I need to order more sizes on top of the set ?!

anyone any ideas for the reason of this?

its because the 570 has really small throttle bores. i *may* have some jets for you, i remember buying some from a large holley parts seller on ebay.

why are you using this carb on your new motor anyways? have you tried to throw that old 650 DP you bought from me on there to see what happens?

I had the DP on it but I'm too stupid to tune it.
Sounds like I have to read their manual *fg*
maybe I'll just swap back and check on it again :-]
But good you chime in :-) have you swapped anything on the carb apart from the throttle plates drilled ? (i put in blades from different carb, so no holes anymore)

With your heads and whatever cam you have, chances are you'll have to go up at LEAST 2-3 jet sizes on the primaries.

thanks again 67. I planted the edelbrock back on an hour ago. If i get proper driveability with that one I might just stick with it. Still undecided. I swapped the carbs three time already. one has no street manners and the other no WOT power. I spend all afternoon reading the edelbrock guides, so I'll give that a try tomorrow. for the moment I have only the curb idle, fast idle and idle mixture set. will drive it to work tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks though for the advise. If I can't manage to tune the EDL I'll order a set of jets, PVs and cams
