Where should I look for these?
Hi friends,
I would like to prepare a set of parts before leaving for a long trip but I don't really know where to look. Can I find these in any part shop (like Kragen) or do I need to buy them online?
- A set of fuses (is it standard? Mustang specific?)
- A set of interior bulbs (glove box and ceiling)
- A set of exterior bulbs (turning signal front and back, headlights, etc.)
- Brake fluid and brake pads (I have disk in the front)
- A set of wipers
- A fan belt
Basically I don't know enough to know what is specific and what is not.
Thanks a lot!

Napa is going to have all of those for you, except maybe some of the oddball interior lights.
I don't see why you need spare brake pads, though. Not things that usually fail without warning. If they're good now, you can trust them on your trip.
In addition, pick yourself up an extra set of radiator hoses, a bypass hose, some hose clamps, coolant, oil, oil filter, and some Right Stuff gasket maker. And of course you need duct tape and bailing wire

I'll agree. Most any part house should have all that for you.
The bulb aisle will have a book you can look up the specific bulb numbers you need. The fuses are standard bussman fuses in various ratings, you should be able to pick up a 5 pack of every type of fuse you need for under $2 each. You can get a bottle of brake fluid easy. Wipers should be available, the parts place I frequent carries generic replacement blades that fit my original arms for something like $4 a pair. A fan belt should be as simple as asking the guy at the computer to get it from the back for you.
These are fairly simple cars, most places around the country should be able to get you those common parts and pieces without much hassle.

Not sure why you need all that stuff. You're not going to have room for luggage. Where are you going, South America or Sahara desert?
Most of that stuff is readily available at almost any parts store and many gas stations in the US. Replace the belts, hoses, wipers, oil, check brakes, coolant etc, before you go, they should be fine, don't need to take them. Take the old replaced bypass hose, they are a little unique. Maybe a few fuses, a few tools, drinkable water and of course duct tape and bailing wire!
You can probably forget the rest if you have a AAA towing card, cell phone and credit card.

you should always have them with you. they are glass fuses. Check on the fuse box and you'll know what you need.
- A set of interior bulbs (glove box and ceiling)
bring a torch ;-)
- A set of exterior bulbs (turning signal front and back, headlights, etc.)
can all be snatched on the road if needed
- Brake fluid and brake pads (I have disk in the front)
same opinion here. no need for that. if breakpads fail you're not going to fix it on the road. I'd rather check on them before I leave. Brake fluid can be gotten on route if needed. but then again if you loose that you have a bigfger problem than just refilling
- A set of wipers
If you want to ... go ahead.
- A fan belt
very important!!! as well as tools to change it
As Mark said: coil. It's 35$ and more than once was the difference of driving and not driving.
As to what tad said, I wouldn't bring an oil filter, but all the rest.
what you need most of all is some McGyver attitude ;-)
