early mustangs are small, and it doesn't take many cubic inches to get them moving in a hurry. stroke a 302 or 351 and u can make PLENTY of NA power and save yourself having to notch shock towers, beefing up your suspension, ect.

dont underestimate the possibilities a properly built small block has!

Dead easy. All you really need is special motor mounts and headers, which are available. A stock 460 will give tons of torque as you say, and will look stock to snoopy inspectors. Small things like wiring changes and radiator hookup will need to worked out, but no big deal. The C6 trans shifter connection will require some adapting, and you'll need a C6 trans crossmember. Modifying the driveshaft sounds like a big deal, but can probably be done locally. FPA and others make headers for this swap.

It's tight but as some of the others have said they do bolt right in...The early 429/460s make awesome torque and power in stock form and have crazy potential for much more.

460 is a nice engine.

I'm not a fan of big blocks except in high powered drag applications, but they do make a ton of power relatively easily. And 460's run for a long time.
