Default Spacer question on the 16x8 rims

Ok, so I've got one of those 16x8 TT D's in front of me...and they are 4" backspacing. So in order to run them without jamming tires into my fender lips, I'd need 1/2" spacers.

So...opinions on 1/2" spacers?

Did you put it on the car? It may not rub depending on what size tire is mounted . You can roll the lip to be safe.

Fender lips are rolled. Not perfectly flush with the flare, but I've definitely got more clearance.

Kinda hard to tell without tires, though.

I do not think you will hit the control arm with a 4 inch, but if it does you can always space it out with a 1/4 wheel shim. There is another 67 in town that runs 4 inch BS with no spacer or issues.

Hope that helps

Sorry, Both cars run 16 X 8. My car has 225/55/16 all around.

Ok, no dice. Jonward came and helped me pull a wheel and mount the rim. I'm not happy with it The outside of the rim is basically flush with the fender flare. It might work, but they're not perfect, and I want these wheels on the car until it dies, so I want them to be perfect.

I'm sad

On the upside, I'm confidant now that 16x8 w/4.5" backspacing will clear the UCA without any problems.

If you have a wheel with 4 inch of backspacing and add a 1/2 spacer you will have the equivalent of 3.5 inches of backspacing (not 4.5 inch like I think you are thinking).

+1

Wheel spacers DECREASE backspace, not increase. It only works 1 way.
