JMD, I have no doubt you made it work without any tunnel mods. I also dropped the rear of my car by 1 1/2". I had no choice but to modify the tunnel.

Sorry for all the questions but thanks for all your help!

I used a Lakewood bell specifficly for the TKO, Mustang Steve Clutch Cable, with a clutch for a 90 5.0 Mustang.

I know the adapters are available for your Lakewood bell because I was looking that direction until I found the TKO speciffic bell.

I think the 408 fit great asside from a little header dimpling... no problems at all with the Lakewood sheild.

Ya I understand that being a problem. Mines raised a little bit in the back so that should be to my advantage. Im going to try and make this work with out cutting the tunnel but I will if i have to.

In my 67 I used a Quitime SFI bellhousing, and the Modern Driveline crossmember, which drops the trans tail down. I also had to use engine drop mounts to keep the driveline angle correct, and slide everything over so the trans didn't contact the tunnel, it's pretty tight and some beating out of the tunnel would have helped it fit better. It's supposedly even tighter in a 65/66, but it can be done.

This link covers the basics pretty well.
