ok guys, you tend to know your stuff and have helped me out plenty so far but i got another one (imagine that haha)

I need to replace the selector shaft seal and already have the seal on hand. my question is about changing it out. i dont want to remove the bolt that holds the selector to the trans as i cannot find anything as far as if the bolt is holding anything inside the trans or if it is screwed into a bushing and then the bushing goes in.

Also do any of you guys know of a good shop manual for the C4? i have the shop manual for the 65 (red cover one) but it doesnt show much for the trans.

does anyone know if the 64.5 - 65 engine book includes the C4? im tempted to buy the whole set of chassis/body/weld & sealers/engine/interior etc books just to have them

Strange, the 66 manual is complete enough to rebuild the C4.

You are talking about this one, right?

yea thats the one but when i looked through the chapter 7 for the C4 it shows everything for rebuilding it but i wasnt making out or to blind to see anything about the bolt that holds the neutral safety / gear selector mechanism to the housing.

I will have to look again tonight when i get home. I may have just skipped over it and not realized it
