I still have some options on pistons. Would their be a better way to go? To be honest little ignorant in this area. I'm sure the guy building my short block will enlghten me but would be interested in other opinions. Dont expect to spray or turbo in the future - just looking that handles well on the street that would be fun to stomp on once in awhile.

Just find out from your engine builder what head combustion chamber will yield the desired compression ratio. Then you can select with confidence.

I called Keith Black who asked me what heads, cam, etc & what compression ratio I wanted. Took him 2 minutes to tell me what pistons I needed to order. He gave me the part number and told me to order through Summit or Jegs. Placed order, called Summit and had them drop shipped to me. Had them in 3 days. Hypereutectic is what they were I think.

Just spoke to comp cam and they recommended a custom grind at .513 lift, 224 & 234 @50, and a 110 lobe seperation. whatever all that means. Heasd should be in the 170 to 180 range. Said I should change my gears to take advantae of motor and get a better grind. Suggested 3.7s or lower instead of the 3.44 I have now. With a C4 really don't want to go any lower - revs kinda high already. Was trying to stick with C4 - primairly for cost reasons.

Ah, the cascade of spending! Proof that the search for more HP always ends in the upgrading of other parts. Where's Urban? He has a lot of experience in this area. Next you will be looking at an AOD, locking rear end, upgraded brakes, and a new drive shaft (those 1310 u-joints are just waiting for a little too much torque).

I'm done will not be running it at the strip. The 3.4s with trac-loc and a beef'd up c4 will have to do. Already have all the parts for the Granda swap and plan on putting subframe connectors in. Got tinmans on my mach and really like them. Driveshaft - hmm - may need to consider that one.
