1. AFAIK, the mounts work on any 289/302 regardless of year
2. I prefer electric with a regulator & gauge
3. Personal preference. You're the one driving around in 100 degree weather.
4. Are you going to race or autocross the car?
5. I'm pretty sure the explorer and crown vic disc brakes will fit with no modification onto your 8" axle. explorer brakes are 11.25", I'm not sure what the crown vics are. Easier and cheaper to retrofit than to swap out axles. You can also install cobra discs with an adapter from mustang steve.

Yes, all 260/289/302/351W&C used the same mount attachment.
-should i use an electric or mechanical fuel pump,
These cars have been raced on mechanical fuel pumps, no need to get creative here.
-I live In los angeles Should i restore the a/c that came with the car since it has it factory or just leave it out or can i always put it in later
When you set up your 79 engine, make sure you use the 68 style harmonic balancer, pulleys, brackets, etc., so if you don't do AC right away (I would, especially in LA) it'll bolt right in.
-should i put the battery in the trunk for the weight
Waste of time for the street, great for racing.
-can i swap out my rear end for a newer one with disk brakes, and if i can what year mustang
Nothing is direct fit, even the specialty kits require some creativity, this is something else you don't need for the street, but do for racing.
