boss crate motor
well my dad is deciding to purchase the boss crate motor but he is having trouble decideding wether to go E (340hp/310tq) or B cam (345hp/310) this will be going into an automatic c-4 thats built and has a 2500 stall converter of course it will be carb'd. i understand the b cam has a longer duration and have herd it on foxes and it has a mean idle, but the e cam no so much though it has a lift, we were thinking of getting the e-crate motor and buying some comp cams (512in/512/exh) with 1.7's rockers to make the lift higher any recommendations? i was thinking of going with boss short block (347 28oz) and build our own set up like afrs, with comp cams/rockers?
also has anyone delt with the ford racing crate motors? are they good? if we get the crate motor can we swap out the cam for a higher one say comp cams and not have to notch the piston for valve clearence?
