check the starter for heat soak, also check your timing it may be advanced a few degrees and that will make it harder to start hot. mine did that when i was a little 2 advanced and if i hooked up another battery it would start. drive it around till warm then shut it off and retard the timing a few degrees and im guessing it will start with no problem.

You may have a serious problem with cooling. I once seized an engine that had this exact problem. The mechanic who took it apart said it had the wrong rings for the bore (too much friction). Has it it been rebuilt recently?
