AOD conversion

Question AOD conversion

When you put the AOD in how much (if at all) did you have to shorten the driveshaft? I know mine is a 72 and most of you guys have 60s but it would still give me a better idea.

I Did the AOD conversion with my 65 mustang. It was originally a 3spd manual and all i had to do to the driveshaft was shorten the yoke.

on my 72 which had the FMX it was shortened about 1 1/2-2 inches, it was 6 months ago and I dont remember for sure.I thought the ideal length from what I read was 45 inches

71stang that was the exact figure i was looking for. I have a 72 that had the FMX also. I compared the driveshaft and thought it looked to be about 2"
