Default 5.0 or 4.6?

Hey guys!! havent posted in a while. I have a 65 coupe that Im resto modding for my dad and its time to find the motor and tranny. I have a stock 92 5.0 with an AOD in the backyard, but I also have access to a 98 4.6 with an AODE. My neighbor hit a deer, pretty common in MN, and his insurace co. totalled the car and his buy back wasnt much. Now he needs some landscaping done and I told him I'd trade him labor for the car. Aside from having to do a Mustang II front end and remove the towers, what other mods would be involved in the 4.6 swap since I have the original ECU and harness? I've seen it done in a 67-68, but has anyone put a mod motor in a 65-66? Thanks

4.6's are huge, and would be a pain in the *** to get to plugs. Plus you can make more power for less money with a 5.0. And they're horribly complicated, so working on it won't be nearly as easy as you think it will. The 5.0 is mostly a direct swap, and it won't give you near the aggravation, and you won't need all kinds of special expensive parts.

The 4.6 plugs are in the valve covers? I thought they were in the heads like on SBF's.

Well that 92 5.0 you have is a roller, so hp will be easier to get.

And the '98 4.6 has crappy heads on it. PI heads didn't come out until '99, iirc.
