Having troubles getting inner wheel bearing off
My inner wheel bearing seemed to have exploded and I'm trying to replace it but I can't seem to get the inner part that contacts the spindle off of the spindle. The rest of the bearing has broken apart as you can see by the picture. I tried using a bearing puller but the lip isn't big enough for the pullers arms to get a good contact on it. Why won't this just slide right off? It spins freely on the spindle so I know it's not seized. Thanks.

Before that bearing grenaded..I'd bet it seized up and was spinning that inner race against the spindle, and now you've got a small groove ground in there that's keeping it from sliding.
There's a couple of thoughts...
1) take a dremel tool and grind a couple of 'shoulders in the body of the race so that you can get your puller to grip. (worth a try but odds are low it will put it over the lip.
2) take the dremel with a 1" cutting wheel and score the race about 90% through it's section (diameter wise, not cross ways) and then take a chisel and split it. you could then cut off one half at a time crossways.
