1969 mach 1 390?
Hi there, i am new to the site and am in the process of purchasing a 69 mach 1.
It is a numbers matching (engine and trans) 390 's' code 4 speed.
It is hard to find information on these cars as there are so few of them ( i have read rarer then 428's but obv not as good)
What i am looking for really is the value of them. Some people i have talked to say that the 351 2v are more desirable then the 390's
I was a chevy guy and just assumed that a big block would bring bigger money??
If some of you could post some general info and appraisals/values of these cars to give me a better idea of what i should be paying (i know it depends on condition- this car being an 8 out of 10) but any help is appreciated
thanks

Anyone who's driven a well-tuned 69 390GT would stop talking about 351 2V engines real quick. The 390GT was fast as heck, definitely capable of scaring the stuffing out of your friends. Very rare and desirable car.

+4 on that a 390 is more valuable than a 351 2v.
The past market has shown that an origional condition 390 will fetch more $$.
Not sure what the current market prices are, it certainly depends on the buyer and the condition.
Now wheather a 351C 2v car is a better handling road car with almost as much power (w/modifications), is another story. That may be what those people ment and it was a popular opinion
back in the day.

good site for 69/70s. 390 definitely would defintely be worth more. It's not going to fetch dollars of 428 but should add a couple thousand over base at least.
