Default first set of problems with my 65 coupe I6

1:Passenger door lock doesn't work by key. nor by inside lock. suggestions?

2. How do i install a manual shifter boot and retainer? do i have to cut the carpet around it? do i have to screw the rubber in or what? this is what i need to install.

3. My clutch pedal when pressed all the way down sticks. and after a minute pops back up. any suggestions as to what to do?

4. And lastly, my car starts up and sounds great right away. But for some reason the front left blinker works only when the lights are on, but not before that. And the light where the front left blinker is.. doesn't work..

any help would be great. Thank you for reading.

Door was probably replaced by lazy body shop, didn't swap over lock. Get a new lock set, and the ignition and doors will match.

Remove the RH seat, sill plate, and kick panel. Lift the carpet slightly to access the old boot screws. The retainer actually just hides the edge of the carpet, and it goes on last.

Bad nylon bushings, or linkage needs adjusting.

Probably bad ground at the lamp, or where the wire is screwed to the radiator support.

For the door lock, can you explain more? Can you not pull up the **** from the inside, the key doesn't turn, the key doesn't fit, the lock spins... what about it doesn't work?

That shifter boot has to be pushed under the carpet. Its kind of a pain. Don't cut too much carpet. You can't add it back. Cut a little at a time until you get it to fit like you like. Test fit several times.

Do youself a favor and get the more expensive shifter bezel with the bolts. It has a larger opening and works so much better. That floating one you have is a piece of junk if you ask me. I had it and it would move and bind on the carpet and it cut half a dozen boots over the years too.

This is what I went with. It looks and fits soo much better.
