i just found out that my soon to be grandfather has a built 351 sitting on his engine stand and he wants 2k for it. he had a 65 mustang fastback that he was building and got sick and sold the car but kept the motor. the bad it that he built it 10 years ago but he said the he pumps the oil through with a drill a few times a year. from what he told me he had the block bored 40 over and then balanced. he said that it has stock crank and rods. the cam he said as far as he can remember that it has 505 lift. the head were ported and polished with 202 intake and he could not remember the exhaust. he put on roller rockers. the intake is some elderbrock unit with a holly carb. new plug wires and coil. also has new headers. my only concern is the age of the rebuild. would valve seals be good? i would put in new main seal and oil pan gasket. if he is going to be family it should be 200-500 bucks at the most..........anyways is it a 351w or 351c?

yea i know i want the family discount. i am not sure what model 351 it is.

Go price a new one and then ask the question again.
I would offer half down and balance paid when it proves to be problem free.

I know Mustang Monthly has 351W engine assemblies for only $1800.
