Default Subframe connectors

From experience what have been good ones and what have been a waste? I would like to go with the weld in style but just not sure on a brand yet. Some say you have to do some modifying and I'd rather stay away from that if all possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Cody

Tinman ones look oem once you weld them in and paint them.

TinMan. Good price, makes the car rigid.

Don't like the tinman personally. Just because A LOT of customers cars framerails are beat to hell when they come in. To insert a connector in there, you have to straighten it first. Other wrap around connectors you hit with a hammer until they flatten out enough to put on. Both a pain, but slipping them on with damaged rails is easier than in them.

I used the Maier Racing ones, they look like they are custom fitted in a shop. They look like they are supposed to be on there.

Not an easy site to navigate, took a few clicks:

65-73 Mustang Subframe Connectors / Set (2)
Only $145.00

I've heard of the Tinman but never looked at the website, very interesting. I like the fact that with a clean weld/paint it looks like they are factory frame rails as opposed to tubes, etc. No too crazy about cutting the end off my frame rail but I've done other mods so it's not like the car is original anymore. I would also have access to my frame rail for a distance to do some rustproofing while I have it off.

The set I was considering is the Global West tube frame connectors ($165) which also don't interfere with anything on Coupes/FB:

The Maier Racing look very stout with 4 connecting points but are quite out of my price range at $280.

I'll be following this thread for pros/cons on each type as I haven't purchased yet.

The Global West ones look a lot easier to install. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I've been researching / debating the same thing myself.

The TinMan's look pretty good but not really too keen on the idea of chopping up my frame rail.

Most of the Mustang parts vendors carry them but no idea about the quality of the ones they sale. I do know CJ Pony recommends buying to bolt on ones and then welding them instead....no idea regarding the logic behind that one.
