Default Header issues

So I have JBA shorty headers and they have been working fine until it started misfiring. Found out the problem is a plug wire thats rubbing against the headers. Burned straight through the wire. My question is do you think some header heat wraps will prevent the wires from getting destroyed/turned into mush plastic?

i would try to find a way to move the wires away from the headers first. you can get some (for lack of better word) bracket that bolts to the VC via the bolt. you can also get some wire wrap that will protect the wire itself

header wrap certainly wouldnt hurt. mabeye a combo of wire wrap and header wrapping. seems like the cheap and easy way. some of the wrap they offer these days is getting pretty good.

I'd do both.. the short 6" to 8" wraps around the boots and a wire loom rack. I bought these (search SummitRacing for RNM-1105-90-K) for the wire management which are available in various colors and horizontal or vertical positions.

I use spark plug boot heat covers. Something like this.

I also use a wire loom to keep the wires up high and away from the header tubes for most of the cable run.

I have not had any issues with header tubes and plug wires with these installed. They make it hard to get the boot and connector on the plug, but once they are on it really is nice.

Make sure if you use the wrap, don't wrap the plug wire!!! wrap the header. The way urban_cowboy did it is the BEST way to do it! Those tubes sure do save the headaches!
