Yeah I think the dearborn plant was much bigger, which would make sense since they closed down the san jose plant and since they didn't make mustangs at the san jose plant starting in 71

Apparently the san jose plant is now a shopping mall

Check the date codes on on any original sheet metal, fender apron, trunk lid even rockers.
It will have been made before the car was assembled.
So if any sheet metal was made after 2/17 you know which to buy.

Hypothetically, if your car was built on 2-17-69, it would mean that the San Jose plant built 28,017 cars in exactly 2 weeks (leap year); that's 2001 Mustangs a day just from one plant.

Your car was probably built way before 2-17-69, since it's unlikely they were making 2000 Mustangs a day. That's just a guess.
