69 side scoops ?

Are you are saying that your '69 has no vent at all? This may be possible---the '69 Boss cars did not have the side vent above and front of the rear wheel, but I think all 'S' codes did. Have you checked you vin to verify that yours is an 'S' code (that is if it does not have the vernt at all).
The only thing different with his car is the big block stuff added, like reinforced shock towers.
I'm not sure what the OP is saying, either there is no hole on his quarter panel for a scoop, or the scoop is just missing out of the quarter panel.
If there is no hole it could be that the quarter panels were replaced and they put on 1970 mustang ones and I don't think 69 quarter panels were available until recently.

sorry for the confusion, but yes there are scoops there. They are just all painted one solid color, there is no insert. Being a first time mustang owner and never inspecting one in person i was just curious if some were made functional.
So for the insert, no aftermarket companies make them??

You may have to cut the hole yourself, but parts are available to make the functional...

I've yet to meet anyone with an E car.
No surprise. They only made maybe 50 of them.
Gas was 35.9 a gal in '69. An economy model with diminished power made no sense then.
Really? That's about $2.10/gal in today's money, and minimum wage was about $1.90/hr. Trust me, people have always complained about the price of gas.
Brake vents and hood scoops were all cosmetic (except side scoops on some Shelby's cars). The little vents next to the headlights in the 64½ were actually functional. The right one was there to cool the generator (the left one was a dummy just there to match the right).
Huh? These are all one-owner 64 cars, not a "functional" vent in sight:

Some of the 1969 Fastback's that were not BOSS's did not have those side scoops either. Late in the model year production run, Ford ran out of '69 rear qtr panels so they started using '70 qtrs. The '70 qtr's deleted the round emblem up high on the roof and the side scoop. The BOSS run was near the end of the prod. run for '69( look at the VIN's ) and a few of the late run regular fastback's had '70 qtrs. thanks

All generator-equipped 65 Mustangs had large air inlet louvers to cool the battery and generator.
