opinions with tranny/gear ratio

Depends on the setup. I'm running the 600 with 3.55's and like it. Cruise on the freeway at 2k or a bit under. 1st is fine for me. A lot of it depends on your power and what kind of traction you want, or whether you want something that drives really easy in 1st with no throttle or can drive at low speeds in 1st etc.

It should. first will have some decent pull, nothing outrageous. 5th won't quite be the mileage gear the .68/.64 would, but it will pull better. A .82 o/d with 3.27 gears wouldn't be too bad though.
Again, it totally depends on the type of setup you want. If you like to road race in a higher powered car then a taller gear, like a 3.10 or 3.30 would work, race in 1-4th and drive to and from the track with 5th Same with drag, a lot of guys with bigger blower setups will run tall gearing to help with traction, go fast with the power, and just plug along in 5th.
