The only mustang more hated is the MustangII. I love the big bodies 71-73 but only in fastback form. You'll never restore that car enough to turn a profit. There's just no demand.

I don't think profit is his motive- "I have been searching for a Mustang for a while now and now that I found it, I would like to know what model it is."

He's in South Africa. You and I have no idea what's "in demand" there. 10 years ago an S10 Blazer worth $5k here was worth $20k there.

As long as he's willing to be patient, he can get everything he needs from the USA to fix it. The result would be a rare (in S.A.) car that'd turn heads.

This, for example, doesn't suck:

That does look cool. Thats probably the best looking 71-73 coupe I have seen.

I tend to agree though, that from 71-73 I really only like the fastback or sport roof.

TCG I was in your country last year (Capetown) and it is beautiful. You really have mild weather there compared to here. Like stated earlier if it's not near the coast you have potentially a good starting point for your project. Also after being over there it would cost more to ship the parts but I don't remember seeing any mustangs over there when I was visiting. I saw a few F150's and that was really it.

Good luck with your decision on whatever you decide.
