Coming along nicely. The weather is a great motivator.

Looks good,

We've got a '67 coupe that looks in similar condition. Also picking up the welder - not for the first time but it's been 30 years since stick welding in hs.

Did you prep the surface before using the Rustoleum? Grind, blast, sand?

Thanks,
Todd

Thanks.
Yeah, I gotta get reacquainted with my mig since I haven't touched it since Nov.-Dec.
I sanded it down or wire wheeled it really good, wiped it down with acetone, and thinner, then I shot it with the rust converter.
Have you got pics posted here some place of yours?

Here's a couple. http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n517/toddpthayer/

I haven't documented the body much yet. The motor is my son's class project and we've been focusing on it so far. I'll try to take a few of the interior (scary) and add them to the album.

Now that the rain's stopped I can dig in to the car itself a bit more

Started back to work on the old girl.

I got the tail light panel off and I started to look at how the trunk brace comes off.
I haven't cleaned or straightened anything up after I just got it off, but I tried test fitting the "Ford tooling" new tail light panel on and it looks like it needs some good work to make it fit.
I got more of the right side torque box welded up.

Woohoo! Glad to see that new sheet metal! I know what you mean by it needing work. My old man thinks the new cowl will go in nice and easy, I just laugh. And after that the fender apron to cowl brackets required SO MUCH work I can hardly believe it!

Keep up the good work!!!

Got a little more done...
Trunk brace is now out...

A couple holes to fix and repair rear frame rails.

I've got to flatten out the rear trunk floor edges where I buggered them up getting the damn trunk brace out.

Tail light panel test fit.
