Thanks for the words of confidence on the hood!!
It is good to know that it is a good quality hood.

What would be the paint prep for the fiberglass on the bottom side of the hood?

I just want to keep it how it is and paint it satin black.
I do not need to make the bottom fiberglass smooth and I will leave it as is.

Thanks for any insight.

Scuff with a Scotch Brite pad, wipe down with a oil/ grease remover, wipe down with a tack cloth, primer then paint. In a nut shell that is......

Check out this forum, its ran by Eastwood. Good info there and lots of guys know what they are doing.

Thanks!!
I kind of figured that was it, but I'm concerned about the rough fiberglass area, I want to keep it that way and that scuff part may be harder to do.

Don't go wild on it just a light scuffing will do. Just enough to give it some bite. You don't want to sand through the gel coat.

Back in the saddle again!!

Shelby hood prop rod installed.

The bumper bracket bolts were busted off in the bracket. I could not get them out, so I took and did a frame rail section replacement so I could install the bumper brackets.

It feels good to get back to working on the old girl again.
