Body Soldering
#21
My son and I have used some lead in my 39, it sounds like a good idea for folks who set their sights on "doing things right", but in reality it is an obsolete product that is not worth the time and expense.
Plastic filler has improved a lot in the last 20 years, lead not so much.
In any case, using body solder is an ADHESIVE process similar to filler, it is not cohesive like welding.
I think we did a pretty good job on my lead, but I wont do it again.
You can see our leadwork around the bottom hinge and the seam just under the window opening.
IMO, weld it up really nice and leave the lead on the shelf.
