Default 1965 6 cylinder torque converter

1965 200 cid 6cyl. automatic.I recently had a loose metal sound. Finally tracked it down to a piece of mangled metal being thrown around by the flywheel. Now mind you, car still ran except for horrible noise. Took off transmission cleared out metal piece (which a transmission shop insists is not off of transmission or torque converter and probably from the old starter, which also busted at the same time) I removed the torque converter to look it over and took transmission in and had inspected and seals replaced just in case. I have now reassembled and the engine won't turn even by hand in any gear. Do I have a bad torque converter now or is there something in reassembly that may be the issue. I have spent the last 2 months on this. I am exhausted at this point. If anyone can help I would include you in my will I really don't want to have to remove the transmission again but if I do, does anyone know a good place to find torque converter for this car?
Thanks

Ok...sounds simlpe...take your tranny back off. The torque converter is not seated all the way...the tension is pushing on your flywheel and locking up your engine. Just reseat your torque converter and gently bolt the tranny back to the motor. You will be fine
