Those little 'tongs' are bent out so it won't pull out, you would have to crimp as many as you can and start it through the hole while you bend the last few in with a small screwdriver. I helps to have someone pulling pressure on it so the ones you get through don't pop back out. My old ones weres shot so I snipped many of them off and then pushed the rest through the hole.

Thanks for the quick response guys. That solves it for me. I got the adapter kit for the Cobra brakes so I may jus cut them.

Slip the box end of a 13mm wrench over the cable. It will be tight enough to collapse the tangs and you can remove the cable. (it might take a litttle wiggling)

Use a small hose clamp like you have for a fuel line. Tighten it down enough to compress the tongs and get it started in the hole. It'll pull through.

I wouldn't completely remove it either. You may need it some day either to stop the car or if you park on a steep hill.

Speaking of E brakes, mine isn't working right now.

I don't need it, although I don't if it would pass inspection with out it.

I don't need mine either, especially since I have an auto. But those few times you can count on hand are the times you are thankful you have one. I made it a point to get mine working, you just never know when you will need it. It's called an emergency brake for a reason, right?
