66 mustang front suspension and disk breaks
#12
how do i make my own disc brakes for $200? I've heard if you rob the front spindles/brake rotors/calipers off of a ford futura or granada it swaps right in place, but those cars are becoming scarse up here, alaska is not a very resourceful place for classic mustang parts

dang, its been awhile, well update, a friend of mine has a 66 coupe that he had swapped granada front discs on to, but decided to go with the new willwood setup, but he needed the stock v8 drum spindles that i happened to have on my car, so for $140 he did the swap, and the granada brakes already had new calipers, lines, tie rod ends, bearings and resurfaced rotors, pretty good deal eh?
so while we were doing the swap i bought new shocks and 3/4" spring spacers, and all seemed honky dory, until my front tires went bald, turns out under acceleration my front end would come up causing the front tires to pull inward.
so next thing on the never ending list of things to do is new springs, again i would like to keep it stock ride height or even lowered a little bit, can someone recommend a spring setup that will keep my tires alive, and keep the front end from bottoming out? bear in mind i have a 351w with iron heads (150 pounds heavier than a 302) and i am running 215/60/15s in the front, any help is greatly appreciated
