302/3spd manual flywheel question

Default 302/3spd manual flywheel question

hey guys. i got the transmission out and im about to take out the clutch on the coupe. any thing i should know before i take everything apart to take off the flywheel?

you'll need an alignment dowel for putting it back in (plastic copy of input shaft). you can use a cut input shaft of a scrap transmission as well if you have one. Other than that I couldn't think of anything

Also when re installing the flywheel, tap the bolt holes first and then use some loctite on the bolts and torque them to spec. in a cross pattern.

Don't forget to check the pilot bushing while it's all apart.

And if you replace the clutch, you should have the flywheel surface machined.

thanks, not replacing the clutch. just installing a new ring gear.
