Default ***Pics of 07 Bullits on 66 wanted***

Thinking of putting 07 Bullitts on the 66 Coupe.

Anyone have pics of this setup? Would love to see what the stock 17's would look like vs going with a 14/15" Style or 500 Mag. Not sure if the ride height would be too much.

The set up is:
5-Lug, 4.5" bolt circle
6.295" backspacing
45 mm offset
17" x 8" wide

Have seen where I would need 1.5" spacers up front and 1" spacers on rear.........

Thanks

I have 99-04 Bullitt wheels. They have 5.72 backspace so you'll need 1" spacers front and rear. If you use the 05+ wheels, you'll need 1.5" spacers (maybe 1" in front if they will clear the A-arm). With a 1" spacer on the back, with the 05+ wheels you'll have about 1/4" to the inner wheel well with 235/55 tires, and they will rub with 245/45 tires.

You can't use the 235/55 tires that come on most take-off wheels. The tire will be too tall for the front (and really too tall for the back). I bought a set and the front tire rubbed on the front of the front fender when I turned.

So I sold the 06 GT takeoffs and bought the 99-04 wheels and am running 225/45-17 on front and 245/45-17 on back. It's an almost perfect fit. I say almost perfect because the fronts could be in about 1/2" more, but 1" adapter spacers are the smallest you can get - for 1/2" you have to use real spacers and longer wheel studs. The tires rubbed when turning on large dips so I rolled the fenders. I'm still careful when turning into a driveway. You will probably need at least a 1" spacer (or even 1.5" spacer) with the stock A-arms on an 8-inch wheel with either 5.72 or 6.29 backspace (I have an M2 front end).

By the way, my car is lowered about 1 1/2" front and rear.

I have the 07 GT wheels on my 66 and like ozarks06 said, you DO have to use 1.5" spacers in the front and 1" in the back!!!! With the tire being a 235/55-17, I even had to clearance the front fender!!!! My car is 4.5" off the ground and I cut almost 3" off the fender. The lips I cut off are going to be put back on but moved up and out about 1.5". Here's a pic.If you want a better shot, let me know and I can take some close-ups for you!

Thanks for the pics and info guys.

It seems like the stock tires will be a no go due to the rubbing but also sounds like theres major rub issue if you get a smaller tire. Is it because its an 8" rim? Cant do a lip cut/move and the cost of getting that done takes away from my low cost option of the take offs.

Was hoping I could just slapped them on there and at most need new tires.

check my garage pictures, The wheels I have look like bullits but they have a lip and you can get the correct backspacing, and they are affordable. Oak

i had 05's+ on my 66. but now i have 99-04's

before

current lol

i would highly suggest going with 99-04's. they look better and they dont require as big of a spacer. the 05+ need at least a 1.5" spacer in the front and a 1" in the back. the 99-04 only need a 1". i ran a 2" in the front with the 05's.

Ford Racing sold off the remainder of the 03 Bullitt wheels for a song. I bought a set from Summit last year for $95 each, plus $11 to ship all 4. Part # is M-1007-J178. But Summit can't get them any more. If you can find someone who still has a set they are a good buy and nice-looking wheel. They fit better, and I think look better, than the 05+ wheels on a classic.

It's hard to find a nice set of 99-04 wheels since they have been around long enough they all have curb rash.

Thanks, I will look into the spacers and try and finally decide what i will get, may get some Sytle Steel or Magnum 500, just priced them on CJ's an arent bad.

Currently have 14's, would you guys suggest going to a 15" rim if I do gowith the classic look, or are the 14 find and use my current tires?
