17" will give you the best selection of tires.

We put 15" torque thrusts on our '66

Are yours 15 x 6 or 7? What sise tire on them? No rub issues?

Thanks

I have 16x8 inch (4.5 inch BS) TTII on the 66. I have 225VR50 tires all around.
I know everyone has them but the look is classic for these cars.

+1 I know this very well from my recent need of having to get tires for my 14" rims.

Then again, I wanted 245/60R14 tires, the only ones made today are the BF Goodrich's, it cost me $243 for both after price matching at the cheapest place I could find If you stick to 205's or 225's and the like then the 14" tire selection is still there, but I personally don't like the stilt look on my 69. A 15" rim will give your more tires for less money, and a 16" rim is even better I believe.

You can keep the same outside diameter of the wheel by using this rule of thumb:
14" with 70 series tire
15" with 60 series tire
16" with 50 series tire
17 & 18 with 35 series tire

Some tire widths and brands will add more or less to the OD of the wheel.
Dodgestang has a great archive of what works for wheel and tire combinations:

Thanks, have been checking out his chart, most are running 60, only a few had 50 on there, just didnt know which would fill up the well the most, looks like the 60 is the most used, hence maybe better looking setup..........will see.
