Default Wheel choice, 14 vs 15", retro vs TT ???

So i think Ive given up on the idea of 05+ Bullitts due to the concerns of rubbing or need for rolling, so now I have to decide between 14 and 15" wheels and TT's vs old school look.

I currently have 14" style wheels from I beleive 67. The tires are still in great shape so I can either get 14" wheels or look at upgrading to a 15" wheel/tire combo. Not sure if there is an added benefit to going with a 15 other than filling the well a bit more.

On top of that I seem to like to many styles to decide on the TT II's/D or retro look with the Magnum/66 Sytle Steel.

Here is a pic of my red 66 with the black top and 67 wheels. The rest are some Ive seen on here that Im using as a go by.

What are the opinions on what will look best on my ride.......................

I like my 15" TT style chrome wheels. I paid like $140 each from Summit Racing.

I did go with a low profile style tire and it only cost me about $60 a piece for them. I run a staggered set of 15x7 front and 15x8 back. They were the same price so it didn't even cost me extra. I run a 205/50R15 front and 225/50R15 rear. Over the summer I am thinking about widening my rear rims to 15x10s or 15x9s and getting a 275 to run.

I would go with 15". If you ever upgrade to disk brakes all around like I did then you'll probably have to toss out your 14" wheels to fit over the 14" calipers.

Go with 15" and you'll have a much wider selection of tires, 14" is a "dying" size.

I'm a little partial to the 15's anyway but would step up to 15" to fill the wheel well as mentioned, more options for disc brakes and bigger tire selection, a win/win all the way around.

This is exactly right. The tire options for 15" wheels dramatically outweigh the 14".

Thanks for the input, Looks like the 15 is winning out, I see from the wheel chart that most are running 215-60-15 tires on a 15 x 6/7 with a back space of 3.75-4, now its down to TT II's, Sytle or Magnums.......

What are your plans for the 14" styled steel 67's?

Everybody has TT II's. I have the TT D's, but if I were to change my wheels again I would go with the Vintage 40 Whhels. I think they look great on Mustangs. Second choice would be the Magnums and third the Styled Steel wheels.

Going with 15's will also allow a slightly lower profile tire to be mounted, which will improve the handling due to less sidewall flex.

We put 15" torque thrusts on our '66
