1966 Autolite 1100 rebuild help needed
Hello,
I am trying to rebuild a Ford/Autolite 1100 carburetor from a 1966 Ford Mustang, 200ci 6 cylinder with the three speed manual transmission. I have a rebuild kit that came with several ball checks. The instructions in the rebuild kit aren’t that detailed and the diagram in the instructions is for the carb with two dashpots that was used for the automatic transmission 200ci 6-cylinder. Thought I’d ask the experts to clarify something for me.
Can anyone tell me how many ball checks should be used for the single dashpot, manual transmission carburetor? I am almost certain that only two were in it when I took it apart.
My carburetor only has one dashpot diaphragm. It is located on the right side of the carb’s lower body when the automatic choke is pointed away from me. I believe that one ball check goes in the hole beside the dashpot.
There are two holes around the venture that could hold ball checks….one in the 5 o’clock position and one in the 10 o’clock position. I believe that the pump discharge weight should be installed over the ball check in the hole in the 5 o’clock position. Is this correct? And should a ball check also be installed in the hole in the 10 o’clock position?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The only significant difference is the auto trans version has an integral dashpot, while the manual version does not. Simply ignore any instruction relating to the dashpot. And get the factory service manual, it tells you infinitely more detail about how to rebuild this carb.
