that sucks. Hopefully you can make most of the money back that you've sunk into it already. How far along is it?

I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm assuming there's no way around selling it?
If you do have to sell it, perhaps you can get another project car in the future.

I'm sure I'll get another project. Ideally I'd like to trade someone for a project and some cash so I can get mostly out of debt and still have a toy. We'll see. It sucks but it is what it is. ...I haven't done anything to the car since the last post, except I undercoated the inside of the floors.

if the car is still in pieces and the chassis is still bare, you might be better off parting it out. Might take a little bit longer, but you'll end up better off $$ wise in the end.

That would not be wise with 15 grand in body, paint, and fiberglass alone. That's what makes the car worth the money.

I just got done going through the ENTIRE thread. I almost forgot you were selling it. Yea it's a little too far along to part it out. But on the bright side you should be able to sell that gem and cover at least a good chunk of your student loans. Many people don't have that luxury.

That car is absolutely beautiful! Real bummer that you have to sell it!

Thanks guys. It looks like I'm going to be trading the car for a running and restored '70 Mach1 (another one of my favorite cars) with about 550 horsepower under the hood and a few cool mods. I'll probably drive that around for a little while, and maybe do a few low-dollar mods to it, and probably sell that to pay off my education. We'll see. It's a lot easier to sell a running car, it's a more practical car for my needs right now, and its a good trade value-to-value considering my car still needs a lot of money put into it to be a runner. Mine is definitely going to a good home, the guy takes care of his stuff, has the money to finish mine RIGHT, and has a number of muscle cars already. It will be tough to see her go, but it feels worse letting her rot in the garage for 10 more years.

The trade is in progress, we'll see how things go. So far we are both happy with the trade, each of us for our own reasons and that's what matters most. Here's a few teaser pics of the Mach.
