I've got the idle good on mine. In first gear if I'm doing 5 mph it runs in the 16:1 range. At cruise or when I let my foot off the gas it goes to 16:4 and misses. I went to 33 hi air from 36 and same thing. At cruise I don't think I'm in the primary circuit but the transition circuit. Any ideas?

wonder what the others have to say. sounds like a lean cruise to me or maybe throttle plate position. i have a similar effect between holley street avenger and demon. if I shove (higher revs, no throttle to slow down (engine braking)) then in the demon the mixture goes lean (which i don't mind at all at this point), but in the holley it was always skyrocketing 25:1+ with the bangbang in exhaust. no idea why. i blamed initial throttle plate position a bit too far closed.

what i mean is that transmission circuit always includes idle circuit. I'd open each of the 4 mixture screws by 1/16th of a turn and see if that makes a difference. if not, I'd check on throtte plate position (both).

At cruise you may or may not be in the primary circuit, depends on load and rpm. But even into the primaries at cruise, most of the fuel comes from the idle circuit usually.

. The engine is not under a load when this occurs. I'll mess with the idle screws first. If that don't work, I'll go a little bigger with the IFR and turn in the idle screws and see what happens.

You can also try messing with the HSAB, go like 4 sizes smaller and see if it changes cruise. That will tell you if the primaries are a factor.

Yep, I forgot to mention. I did go down from 36 Hi air to 33 with no changes. I did screw the idle mixture screws out a bit. My idle is richer the my lean spot is still there but not as much. I will try larger IFR's and see if that works. I drilled out three sets, going one size larger each time.

Either larger IFR or smaller idle bleed, or both.

just for my reference. the 4corner idle on the demon is effectively an additional idle bleed (that feeds all 4), isn't it?

i think what they done is to use that one:

i think you can'#t beat that one:

but it's out of my pricerange and I'd prefer 120mph/ 8000rpm gauges.

Starfury is quite right with his comment. would look a lot better the way he's describing it
