Speedometer Drive Gear

Speedometer Drive Gear
So I'm a cool dad. The kid wants a mustang, I find him a mustang. It needs a "little" work and in the process of rebuiding the transmission at the school shop, somehow he manages to lose the speedometer drive gear off the tail shaft.
Its a 65, 200 six cylinder with three speed manual transmission. Its the 2.77 three speed (with the four bolt top cover). Okay, so you're all gonna tell me the transmission is junk and we should just change it out, but we're trying to keep the car original .. and we've got a couple hundred bucks in the rest of the rebuild parts.
So .. where does one find a speedo drive gear for this model transmission? I've called three different pony shops and two transmission shops on the web. Even the nice folks at PATC told me they just simply aren't made any longer and are very hard to find. What's worse is we don't have the original and I can't even find data on what it should look like ... diameter, RH/LH, # of teeth, .... I don't have a clue.
Any info on where to find one? Failing that, anybody got a trashed 2.77 they want to get rid of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the drive gear call these guys
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/highperflist.htm
They'll have what you're looking for.
The driven gear is easy to find...I know John's Mustang and CJ Pony have them if you should need one of those as well...

Need the spiral gear on the tail shaft. And transmissioncenter.net is PATC. Their the ones that told me the 2.77 drive gears aren't manufactured any longer. So .. if they are the definitive source, then we're sunk.
