alright cool. i've read that the 66 mustangs don't have as much space in the engine compartment as the older models and sometimes this can be an issue.
i'm mainly getting the headers for the sound, and they just make the engine run a little more efficiently. probably won't translate into better gas mileage although a few people said it would, but i have no clue. i've found some used ones pretty cheap but i'm sort of leery of getting them since i can get a decent set new for around $150.

oops, i meant newer years in the above post.
anyway, since i last posted i got a 302/T5 from a 94 GT. i don't have the pedals, linkage or crossmember, but the transmission and engine are all ready. i tore off the old intake manifold and remaining EFI stuff and put a a new intake and a 4 barrel on it. i also had to swap the oil pan and pump pickup.
now i have a couple questions for getting everything ready before it goes in. the guy i got it from said i could get the crossmember/clutch pedal and linkage from him once he finished taking it out but he wasn't sure if it would work in my 66.
-what crossmembers will work for me? do i have to get one specific to a 66 or will the foxbody ones work?
-what pedals and linkage kits would you guys who have done this recommend? is there a step by step anywhere for setting up the pedal?
i've looked around but haven't been able to find a good complete guide to this and any feedback before i start cutting holes in my car would be great.
thanks!
