I would think if it was starving for fuel a good stomp on the gas pedal and you'd get a lean backfire. When I had crap in the carb this is what I saw. Are you sure you've completely ruled out any ignition problems?

Tried the stomping while experiencing the sputtering with no luck, could it be an ignition problem which is causing it to stall out at the same point, def sounds like a fuel issue while driving???

Could running some cleaner thru the gas tank possibly help in cleaning up any cunk inside the carb that I couldnt get to with the spray cleaner I did this past weekend? Would that help with a possible stuck float?

If you have a stuck float, you could try to tap on the side of the carb with a screwdriver handle to unstick it. This sometimes works.

Just got back home, replaced current coil with the old one to see if thats the issue, while on vaca I was told it could be that, I also blew out the fuel line between tank and pump and found a 3-4" rubber like gasket flush out : (

Will c if I can test out later this week, work schedule is gonna slow me down...

just got done with an issue like this... autolite 1100 carb ....the brass "pickup tube" under the jet thats pressed into place worked loose as in laying on the top of the jet ...the diagram,, doesn't show it...it's for lack of a better description,,part of the power valve series on the inside of the card,,when I pulled the jet off mine the "tube" dropped out and it was pressed into place,,I cleaned it and "pressed" it back in and problem fixed,,,hope this helps,,just something to check/think about
